How to create a QR code

This free QR code generator creates static codes for links, text, Wi-Fi details, email, phone numbers, messages and contacts. Select the type you need and enter the information it should contain. The preview is generated in your browser, so you can review the finished code before downloading it.

Size, quiet zone and error correction

The PNG size controls the pixel dimensions of the downloaded image. A larger file is useful when the QR code will appear in print or needs to be resized later. It does not change the information stored inside the code.

The quiet zone is the empty border around the QR pattern. Four modules is the standard choice and should work for most uses. Avoid removing this clear space or placing text, graphics or a decorative frame too close to the code.

Error correction helps a QR code remain readable if a small part is dirty, damaged or covered. Level M is a practical default. Q or H adds more recovery but also creates a denser pattern, so always test the final result at its real display or print size.

Should you download PNG or SVG?

Choose PNG for websites, presentations, documents and other everyday digital uses. It is a normal raster image and works almost everywhere. Select a sufficiently large PNG if the code will be displayed prominently.

Choose SVG for print, signs, packaging or design software. SVG is a vector format, so the QR code stays sharp when it is enlarged. Keep the original proportions and do not crop away the quiet zone.

Choose readable QR code colors

A dark QR pattern on a light background is the safest combination. Black on white provides the strongest contrast, but other colors can work when the difference remains clear. Avoid transparent backgrounds, subtle color combinations, gradients and very light QR patterns.

If the code will be printed, test it from the expected scanning distance and under normal lighting. A design that scans on a bright desktop monitor may be less reliable on small, glossy or low-contrast printed material.

Private by design

The generator is free to use and your content is converted into a QR code locally in the browser. It is not sent to a QR-generation API, and the generated static code contains no JernejLetica.com tracking redirect. The destination remains exactly what you entered.

A QR code is not encrypted. Anyone who can see or scan it can read the embedded URL, Wi-Fi password, contact details or message. Do not place sensitive information in a QR code that will be shared publicly.
